MOULD REMEDIATION
Mould growth can be the source of many allergies and infections. Some mould spores can even be toxic. Many species of mould, if inhaled or ingested, cause serious respiratory and vascular illnesses. It is crucial that mould is removed from your home, especially if young children or elderly family members, who have lower immune systems, reside in the home with you.
CJB Project Managers are trained to inspect all cases of mold growth, whether mild or severe; and along with our impressive base of over 100 trade resources, mitigate the mould growth. After an initial inspection, sampling is done to determine the type of mould and whether any mould spores have become airbone. Certified mould professionals will quarantine areas with severe contamination to protect you and your family from further exposure. Procedures will then follow to control the moisture levels to prevent further mould growth.
Techniques for removing mould buildup vary, depending on whether the surfaces are non or semi-porous, or porous. Items which are porous and non-restorable, are sealed up and safely transported and destroyed. Once the mould professionals have completed the remediation and a thorough cleaning has been performed, all surfaces are left dry and visibly free from contamination and debris.
ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
Asbestos abatement (removal/reduction) procedures vary depending on the amount and type of asbestos (chrysotile, amosite, etc.), the location and the work conditions. All procedures, however, follow the same principles of 1) isolating the work area, 2) protecting the workers, 3) minimizing the release of asbestos fibres, and 3) ensuring adequate decontamination (cleaning).
Asbestos abatement procedures are categorized as either, 1.Low Risk - minimal risk of releasing asbestos fibres into the air, i.e. moving products manufactured from asbestos containing materials without cutting, sanding, breaking or vibrating the products, 2. Moderate Risk - moderate risk of releasing asbestos fibres into the air, i.e, dry removal of products manufactured from asbestos containing materials by cutting, breaking or otherwise damaging during removal, or 3. High Risk - high risk of exposure to airborne asbestos fibres, i.e. demolishing, dismantling, altering or repairing any building or structure in which insulating material containing asbestos was used.
Whether managing a low risk, or a high risk (restricted area) work site, CJB crews and contractors take care in all aspects of job planning, from site inspection and preparation to decontamination and disposal. CJB also understands the importance of acquiring the necessary protective equipment, identifying all potential health hazards, and lastly, sampling the air before any enclosures are removed.
You can expect CJB Restoration to contain all work sites and ensure health and safety procedures are followed.
